i am all the pants i've ever worn:
sweat, blue jean,
corduroy, and slacks

i am an old sweater
three darned holes,
pink on grey wool

sheep skin for warmth

there is an alphabet
for everything these days

and math can solve many problems,
just don't count on it
some of my favorite poets
i haven't read yet

i am either sitting or walking,
never at the same time
in the shade or in the sun,
i am mostly the same person

small in stature, but
really big on the inside.
